Description

Reports an armed ship, brig and schooner from Guadeloupe and St. Lucia have within past few days effected the landing of upwards of 200 men with arms and ammunition at one of the bays to windward, notwithstanding the activity of Captain Warre of ship Mermaid who afterwards discovered and captured the ship and brig; reports activities of the 'insurgents' at military post of Charlotte Town; post at the observatory has been evacuated and military is confined to the fortifications, the town of St. George, and the remaining posts of Sauteurs, Pilot Hill, and Megrin; refers to enslaved people; related enclosures.
