Pages 151-152.H Hobhouse to Major General Sir John Byng, Pontefract. Asks whether there is any truth in an account given by W Philips in the House of Commons concerning a spy named Dewhurst who was seen in Byng's Gig stating that he was Byng's servant, but had been nominated by the Reformers to act as their delegate. Finds it hard to believe that this account relating to Manchester in March should be based upon a fact which occured at Wakefield in June. Nothing is known of Dewhurst.
