Folios 156-157. Letter from Charles Mott, assistant commissioner, to the Poor Law Commissioners, regarding school masters for the Manchester school. The committee looking at arrangements for a union school have asked to be recommended a suitable candidate as school master at an annual allowance of £100. Gardiner has written to two possible candidates advising them that the Union is considering recruiting two or three competent teachers, while aware that the school will take time to be established for which there is pressing need
