Asks for additional companies of soldiers to be sent to the island and explains that the island needs the protection of a warship. Comments on the actions of local privateers, the departure of Lieutenant Evans of the Royal Navy, the progress of the survey, an embargo placed on the exportation of all provisions from mid June to mid July, the need to get provisions from the West Indies rather than America, and the plans of the French and Americans to attack the island. Encloses a copy of a letter addressed to Major General Williamson, Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica, which expresses concern that Bermuda would soon be attacked by the United States of America.
