Description

Reports that private letters received from America stated that 'the executive power of the United States [had] authorized the officers of the customs to give every protective and indulgence to the armed vessels of France'.

Comments on actions taken for the defence of the island and the seizure of two American ships carrying food supplies for the French islands.
