Harrington to Cumberland: he encloses a copy of his letter to Trevor on the affair of the governor of Sluys. A French attack on Britain is thought to be imminent, and Cumberland is to be prepared to send troops. As the grand duke [Francis] has forced Conti across the Rhine, the 6,000 Hessians will march for the low countries. Dated at Hanover. PS. that in view of the French threat, the king may send the Hessians to the coast. ff. 272-274
