Carteret to de Londel: Albemarle and Count Chanclos have examined the case of the three officers [musketeer quartermasters] and decided that only a month's pay can be demanded of them as ransom. Ligonier has instructions to act on this basis. Arenberg will dispatch his commissary the next day. Dated at Speyer. PS. that the letter will be delivered by the Austrian commissary. ff. 133, 134
