Stair to Carteret: his interview with the elector at Bonn. Meeting of Stair, Arenberg, Neipperg and Ligonier. He has sent Bland with a letter [SP 87/12/16] to the magistrates of Frankfurt. He is anxious to bridge the Main. The Dutch are to garrison Mons, Ath and Charleroi. He wishes to establish a train of artillery at Coblenz. He encloses a memorial [SP 87/12/17] given to him by the secretary of state at Bonn. Dated at Neuwied. PS. the French have garrisoned Heidelberg and have designs on Heilbronn. [In cipher] the elector of Trier sent him intelligence about Heilbronn. He encloses a copy of a letter from Bland [SP 87/12/18] to Keith, and a paper of intelligence [SP 87/12/19] from Villiers.. ff. 35-38
