Carteret to Stair on the mediation of the king of Prussia between Maria Theresa and the emperor. He encloses a letter from the elector of Cologne [SP 87/11/58], the king's answer, a letter from Lord Hyndford with an enclosed complaint by the elector Palatine [SP 87/11/59] on the conduct of Stair's troops. Questions arising from the crossing of the Rhine. There is to be no question of taking Frankfurt. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. ff. 107-114
