Carteret to Stair: it may be some time before the resolution of Holland is adopted by the states general. He encloses a memorial from Mr [Robert] Trevor [SP 87/11/43]. Efforts of the king of Prussia to influence the states general and the imperial diet. He encloses correspondence between the king and the king of Prussia. The court of Vienna wishes Britain to procure the grand duke to be chosen king of the Romans. Affairs in Italy. The king has approved the petitions [in SP 87/11/39, 40]. Dated (OS) at Whitehall. PS. with news of an Austrian victory [Campo Santo]. ff. 75-79
