Stair to Carteret: [General] Dupontpietin has not marched his troops as ordered, which has delayed the movement of the Hessians and British. Stair encloses a letter [SP 87/11/15] from him and his own reply [SP 87/11/16]. This correspondence has been shown to Arenberg and Harrach in Brussels. The bishop of Liège has remonstrated against the requisitorial letter from Brussels. This may have been inspired by a declaration of the king of Prussia at Frankfurt. He encloses a contract with Jewish suppliers of bread. Dated at Ghent. PS. on the arrival of Colonel Bligh's regiment from Bruges. ff. 27-30
