Carteret to Stair: the king has approved Stair's plan for the march of the army, but it must be undertaken in concert with the Austrians, who will negotiate the armies' entrance into any other territory. Stair's troops must act as auxiliaries to the Austrians. He is to send the recruiting officers to England. He encloses a letter [SP 87/10/125] from the paymaster general for Stair's comments, and a copy of his own letter to [Robert] Trevor. PS. that he encloses a translation of the king's order to his [Hanoverian] commissary general in Flanders [SP 87/10/127], and that it will not be possible to quarter all the Germans in Juliers.
