Carteret to Stair: he is to proceed with recruiting in the usual manner, by sending home recruiting officers. When regiments at home are at full strength, the king will consider sending more infantry. Stair is to give his own orders for the hospital. He encloses a letter from the postmaster general [SP 87/10/94] and his reply [SP 87/10/95]. Dated at Whitehall. ff. 193, 194
