Ligonier to Stair: he has consulted General Hertell, chief engineer of the states [general], who is of opinion that the defences [at Dunkirk] are too strong to be attacked. Arenberg has informed Neipperg of the march of the Hanoverians and Hessians. Dated at The Hague. Ps. that Arenberg has requested that Harrack be informed of the march of the Hanoverians and Hessians, and that he has written to Colonel Bland accordingly. ff. 61, 62
