Stair to Carteret: his conversation with Opdam. A meeting with the pensionary, at which Stair informed him of the negotiations with the emperor. The pensionary hopeful that the province of Holland would soon put troops in the field. The effect of this on Maillebois' army. Stair wonders whether Saxon troops could be used at Prague. He proposes a route for the Hanoverians and Hessians and suggests a rendezvous near Bruges. He has seen a letter to the pensionary from van der Meer, the Dutch minister in Spain, with an overture from the Spanish for peace with Britain. A meeting with Count Sinzheim. He encloses the joint opinion of himself and the duke of Arenberg for dispositions etc of the armies [SP 87/9/90]. Dated at The Hague. ff. 185-188
