Stair and Robert Trevor to Carteret: the province of Utrecht has ordered its officers not to comply with the resolution to put troops in the field. He encloses an extract of a resolution [of the states general] against van Hoey [SP 87/9/59]. Stair encloses a copy [SP 87/9/60] of his memorial to the states general on the captured English ship. The Dutch are taking measures against the privateer. They enclose an extract [SP 87/9/61] of letters from Dunkirk. Dated at The Hague. ff. 117, 118
