Copy letter from Messrs. Goatley and Turner. Have reconsidered the land required by the Navy and repeat the Navy should take the whole.
25 July 1720 Copy letter from the Board to Sarles Goatley and Mr Turner. Receipt of your letter offering us the two fields at £16 per annum of part of it at £8 per annum and quote the power of resumption from the lease. We leave the determination to the Lords of the Treasury and have given orders to the Officers of the Yard to carry on the wall in the manner proposed.
25 July 1720 Copy warrant from the Board to the Chatham Officers. Are sending a copy letter received from Messrs. Goatley and Turner relating to the two fields needed for the Navy at Chatham and require you to continue with the works of the new wall as proposed. The Clerk of the Cheque is directed to enter on his Quarter Book the annual rent of £8 per annum..
