Copy letter from Commissioner Cooper at Chatham to the Board. At bellringing this morning went before the gate accompanied by the Master Shipwright and his assistants when about 100 workmen were there and they in a body repeated they would not come to their duty without the privilege of not lowering their chips. Applied to Lord George Sackville for troops to be ready when your answer to the petition of the shipwrights was read and they behaved insolently. The troops advanced and secured 11 of them. They have been sent to the Nore under guard of 20 Marines and an Officer. John Lance was on board the Royal Sovereign and the other 10, listed in the margin, on board the Wager..
