31 Oct 1755 Copy letter from Mr Pye to William Arthur, Naval Officer at Antigua. Commodore Frankland has delivered you the Ranger Schooner but has given no direction for the disposal of the ship or of his intention to employ her. Propose you apply for permission to dispose of her is there is no approval of my having purchased her.
