Description

John Clevland. From 1694 the allowance to the Watermen and Lightermen's Company for impressing Watermen and Lightermen into the Service has been 8d a head on the production of certificates. Gives expenses on their current account which is inferior. No proof is brought of the number of men procured or of their delivery on a Naval ship. The men went voluntarily on board and received the Bounty and opine the Crown should not be put to further expense for them
