John Clevland. Whilst passing Officer's imprest accounts at outports for raising men, some of the Captains and Lieutenants have charged 1 shilling a day for subsistance of new raised men until they are put on board ships or tenders. Lieutenant Thomas Pigott employed at Chester was informed they are to be allowed 6d. per day only and ask for directions. Seamen sent to outports in lieu of pressed men are to be subsisted by the Collector of Customs at 6d. a day
