Copy letter from Bernard Nonnen at Bremen to the Board. Mr Angel the Regulating Captain, sent two of his officers hither for the sailors of the Cruizer Sloop. Has been notified that he is appointed British Consul and will therefore stay two years longer than he intended and live nearer the ships. Martin Eelking of the Hanse towns in London and Secretary to South Sea Company, can advise on the proper persons to be put to work. English merchants with mainly rice plantation goods have no Navy seamen but take seamen from this country. The Masters of the Merchant men suffer impositions from the Danish Customs. Captain Rafton of the Scarborough, had his main yard taken by a Danish officer and was impeded on his voyage because his crew made a frivolous complaint and was forced to go to Oldenburg, leaving his crew behind. He is chartered for St. Petersburg and has proceeded with a motley crew and a certificate to lay his case before Mr Titley, HM Ambassador at Copenhagen. His younger brother is a senator at Bremen and a criminal judge who can act for me when I am on the River
