John Clevland. Have acquainted the Overseers of the Hospital building at Haslar, that their salaries were to cease at the end of October but they still continued there to finish the works. Have asked Commissioner Hughes to inform on what remains to be done and whether the overseers were required. He informs there are still plumbers works to do which will take six weeks and one Overseer will be sufficient. Ask whether Mr Horne or Mr Turner should remain. Mr Hughes asks that a contractor is asked to remove bricks and scaffolding if the additional parts of the Hospital are not immediately put in hand and that the workmen's huts should be removed
