Copy letter from Richard Brown to the Board. Daniel Israel applied to Alexander Bennett, owner of the Hadjee with stores for Gibraltar, to buy her and deposited £50 on condition he could fit her out at which time he would pay the whole purchase money of £140. He stored her with Naval stores and contracted as if he had been the lawful Master and owner of the ship. For want of money he left his stores on shore and went to a breaker up of old ships for old sails to carry her away and has left a bill of loading for the stores on board for Gibraltar as if it had been his Navy bill. Mr Bennett being indisposed cannot personally wait on the Board and as his agent, asks for advice.
