Description

Copy letter from Lieutenant James Peers. Forty able seamen from the Guardships at Portsmouth were ordered to assist the Queen Caroline East India ship from Spithead to the River. She is safely moored at Erith and the men were sent to the Clerk if the Cheque at Deptford to be paid conduct money but he requires an order.
