Reports sending a ship to Philadelphia to buy food. Explains that the food was needed for: ships being armed as cruisers, expected additional soldiers, workman and labourers employed for public works, and also for the poor of the island who would not be able to afford food if there was a war and the prices rose. Items to be purchased included:
Also reports that merchants who lent money for the use of the government were not receiving payment for their bills from the Treasury on time.
