Description

Colonel [John] Clavering to Holdernesse, partially in cipher: he presented himself to the landgrave at Geismar on 20 June. General Donop and Prince Ferdinand's opinions on the landgrave, who has asked Clavering to accompany him to 'Pirmont'. Eight battalions of Hessian troops to join the army. The fortification of Cassel is proceeding slowly. Dated at Cassel. ff. 4-8
