Description

Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse, informing him that the siege of Wesel has been raised, and enclosing a copy of a letter from the hereditary prince [SP 87/38/89] on the subject. The arrival of reinforcements from France means that all he can hope for is to drive de Broglie from Hesse and to save Westphalia. Events in Saxony. Dated at Ovelgonne. ff. 181, 182
