Comments on the salary of and his suitability for the positions of agent and collector of customs of Turks Island. Explains that the climate of the islands did not suit 'the constitutions of European peoples'. Adds that the Bermudians had developed the ability to stand the climate and lived on a diet of fish and salted provisions as 'no kind of vegetables grows there owing to the salt climate'.
