Nature of request
[The petition is largely illegible and the details are drawn from the Rot. Parl. transcript].The mayor and commonalty request that Temple Street be part and answer with the rest of the people of Bristol as it currently lies in Somerset, and when the sheriff of Gloucestershire is ordered by the king to make execution, the people of the town move their goods to this street so that neither the sheriff or his bailiffs are able to make execution on them.
Nature of endorsement
Stonor, Clyvedon and Amesham should be assigned, or one or two of them so that Stonore be one, to enquire in the presence of the sheriff of Somerset and Gloucester and the men of the wich of Temple Street to what damage of the king it be if the king grants this petition.
