Oliver requests allowance of a sum he was found to owe in his account at the Exchequer as keeper of wool customs at Newcastle and Hartlepool for the losses from the Scots, for sums owed him by the king by bill, and for a sum paid by him on royal orders which were maliciously disallowed by the bishop, Despenser and Belers who had him imprisoned. He also requests to pay the residue in instalments.

The letter and bills are to be seen in Chancery, and the treasurer and barons are to be commanded to receive the account and make allowance in the bills and letters in the debts owed to the king.He should sue to the treasurer concerning instalments.

The petition can be dated to 1327 as it is clearly after the fall of Despenser and the death of the bishop of Exeter, and Oliver was granted that he could pay the residue of his debts by instalment on 23 November 1327 (CCR 1327-30, p.190).
