Note
The petition is likely to date to 1327 as it makes a complaint against the Despensers. There was clearly later process on the matter as an entry in the close rolls ordering the justices to proceed to a final discussion of an assize of novel disseisin against Chauton was issued on 29 October 1328 (CCR 1327-30, p.345).
