- Seinte Marie requests that for the service he did in war and peace to the king's father that he be granted for his life the keeping of the tower of Bordeaux castle, and he be made sergeant general in the duchy of Guyenne at 2 pence a day.
- Nature of endorsement
- The tower is in the keeping of the constable of Bordeaux and the king does not wish to remove him. 2) Let the constable be written to that he inform himself if the petitioner be suitable for the office of sergeant, and if he be, then he is to receive him so that the number of sergeants are not increased.

- The petition is speculatively dated to? 1307-? 1327 on the basis that the petition refers to service done to the king's father, presumably Edward I, and the petition has the appearance of a petition of the reign of Edward II. Because the response is in French, it seems likely that the petition is later in the reign of Edward II.
