Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/159/7943
Date
[c. 1327]
Description
Petitioners
Edmund de Grymesby (Grimsby), clerk of Chancery.
Name(s)
de Grymesby (Grimsby), Edmund
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Grymesby requests a writ to the treasurer and chamberlains that they pay him or make a suitable assignment without delay for corn and other victuals taken from him for the use of the king's father in his fifteenth year.
Nature of endorsement
Let nothing be done as it is a debt of the king's progenitor.
Note
The petition clearly dates to early in the reign of Edward III as the debt referred to in the petition was incurred in 15 Edw. II, so that a date of c. 1327 seems appropriate. The reference to a petition of 1307 in CIM 1307-49 may not refer to this petition or the petitioner (no.951).
