Commonalty of the Englishry of Glamorgan.

Nature of request
The commonalty request restitution of their lands and tenements with their goods and chattels and the issues and arrears which have been taken into the king's hand following the quarrel of the earl of Lancaster.
Nature of endorsement
Let this petition be sent to Chancery and there let a writ be sent to the keeper of Morgannwg that he view the reasons for the taking of the land into the king's hand, and make restitution of the same to those whose lands and tenements are in the king's hand by reason of the chevauchee of the barons and the quarrel of the earl of Lancaster, and also the issues and arrears of the farm of which the king is not at all served.

Note
The petition dates c. 1322 as it is clearly in the aftermath of the rebellion in the Marches that culminated in the defeat of the earl of Lancaster at Boroughbridge.
