[The petition is only partially legible, and the request is cut away].The Smothes [request remedy] as the justiciar has taken lands that they were granted for life by Poer into the king's hand, being unaware of their tenure, and they have been granted at farm to Burton. The grant was made to them before Poer failed to produce the earl of Desmond for whom he was a mainpernor, and before his indictment for trespasses and felonies.
