Valoyns requests remedy as the church of Kirby has been ruined and robbed by the Scots, and what they left the keeper of Knaresborough Castle has taken, so that there was nothing to live off, and on this came the collectors of the clerical tenth granted to the king. The state of the church is attested by the collector of the first fruits.
