[Petition in 16 parts].1) Rokeby requests that he be discharged his office, or that he receive some suitable regard for his troubles and to appoint a lieutenant.2) He requests payment of part of his debts in which the king is bound to him by his account of Stirling.3) He requests that recompense be allowed him for horses lost in the war and disallowed by the barons of the Exchequer.4) He requests that payments made to certain Irish that he received to the king's peace be allowed.5) He requests charter of pardon be granted to named individuals.6) He requests that Beverley be granted the constabulary of Newcastle Mackinegan.7) He requests a writ to the chancellor of Ireland to make writs under the great seal of Ireland to the treasurer of Ireland to pay his fee in advance each quarter.8) Request concerning coinage and mine search for the greatest profit of the king.9) He requests the restoration of Foljambe to his office.10) He requests that Hugele be appointed the office of keeper of the rolls of the chief justice of Ireland.11) He requests that Syward be granted the seneschalcy of the king's demesne lands in County Dublin.12) He requests that in lieu of the money owed by Typtot to the king in Ireland that Rosby and his companions should have their bodies at a certain day as appears by the record.13) It seems to the council in Ireland that it would be to the king's profit to have one market in Dublin.14) It is requested that a decision be made on what is to happen concerning the mainprise of the earl of Desmond as the mainpernors did not have his body there at the assigned day.15) He requests that justices be assigned to survey the process concerning the bishop of Ossory.16) He requests that there answers be delivered to the Irish messengers of the above things by indenture.

[On face]1) The king wishes him to remain and has good regard for his troubles.2) This petition is not able to be done now.3) Let it be respited to Michaelmas and let the matter be enquired of.4) Let it be respited as with the other article.5) The king is not yet advised of this.6) The king grants this to him at will.7) This cannot be done, but let him be paid in the manner before this time.8) Let advice be taken with the treasurer of Ireland when he comes.9) This does not please the king.10) If he be suitable let him receive the office until it pleases the king.11) The king wishes that his council in Ireland ordain a suitable person.12) Let the record of this fine be sent into the Chancery of England, and let it be put in execution.13) The king is to be advised.14) Let this offer be received in case that they are not able to make a higher fine.15) . . . the justices . . .[On dorse, nothing].

Note
The petition is dated to 1354 by Sayles (Affairs, p.207). This seems to be on the basis of the appointment of John Hugele to the office of keeper of the rolls of the chief justice as was requested in the petition. Other evidence cited by Sayles appears to support this.
