Nature of request
The abbot and convent request payment of the sum owed by the king to them for wool taken from them for the king's use, or that allowance be made in the sums they owe the king [letters patent of Edward I is recited verbatim].
Nature of endorsement
They should show in Chancery the letters of the king which they have of the debt, and when this has been viewed, let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they make allowance to them in the debt exacted from them at the Exchequer.

The petition is clearly in the reign of Edward II as it recites a document of Edward I and states him to be the present king's father. However, it is not clear whether this was very early in Edward II's reign.
