Neville requests that he be pardoned the arrears of the 100 marks that he was fined following his indictment for arraying the county of Lancashire against Despenser and other councillors of the king, Neville being a knight of the earl of Lancaster.
Nature of endorsement
The petition is to be sent into Chancery, and the chancellor is to establish the reason for the fine, and if it is because of the quarrel with the earl of Lancaster let it be annulled and let a writ be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to annul, and if it is for another cause let a writ . . .

The petition dates to 1327 as it is clearly a petition by one of the rebels of 1322 making a request for a discharge of the remainder of the fine that he was forced to make, and the petitioner was discharged on 14 February 1327 (CCR 1327-30, p.20).
