Note
The petition is dated to 1327-1333 on the basis of the response which makes mention of Richard de Bury. Bury was a close adviser of the young Edward III and he is clearly fulfilling such a role here. The petition may be after the fall of Mortimer when Edward assumed full power, and can be no later than 1333 when Bury was elevated to the bishopric of Durham.
