[The sense of the petition is impossible to recover from the petition as the petition has suffered considerable damage, and over half of the petition is illegible, however the contents of the petition are found in a close roll entry from which the following is supplied].The bishop requests remedy as Helygan has sued a writ of quare impedit against him demanding the right to present a parson to the church of Malynyet though the bishop claims nothing in it except as ordinary, and the process continues against him.1)
Nature of endorsement
Before the king and his great council.2) It is agreed by the great council that a writ under the great seal be directed to the justices of Common Pleas reciting the complaint of the petition, and that by the writ it be ordered to the justices that if the bishop be put to plead and answer to the general impediment and of . . .[the remainder is illegible].
