[Petition in 4 parts].1) . . . that he is to appoint a bailiff of Bromfield who . . . will do right and justice in the land and bring back the lands . . . given in deprivation of those orphans, and restore the orphans to the possessions of the heirs, and if it is considered expedient by the king that ap Helany is made bailiff, because he is faithful to the lord king, then we certainly advise that provided that a certain . . . should be assigned, and the remainder of the things arising from the land should be reserved for the sustenance of the children and the restoration of their land.2) The bishop requests other lands in compensation for the abbey of Rhuddlan.3) He requests that the king's bailiffs be ordered to compel the miners of new mines to pay tithes to the churches in whose parishes they are sunk.4) He requests assignment of ten librates of land granted to him.

The petition is dated to? c. 1279 in accordance with the guard daing, and on the basis of references in the Calendar of Welsh Rolls concerning tithes from the lead mines of Flint (pp.180, 183). The hand broadly supports this dating.
