King.

[Petition in two parts: the sense of the petitions are impossible to recover as so little survives of the petition but they clearly relate to Cumberland, to an eyre and to Hugh de Cressingham.].

Let the treasurer and barons [of the Exchequer] . . . Hugh de Cressingham . . . and if they find . . .
Places mentioned
Cumberland.
People mentioned
Hugh de Cressyngham (Cressingham).
Note
The petition has been dated to the period c. 1292-c. 1295 as the petition clearly refers to Hugh de Cressingham and an eyre probably in Cumberland, and therefore is likely to refer to the eyre of 1292-4 (Records of the General Eyre, pp.170-2). Cressingham's circuit took in Cumberland in late 1292 and early 1293. The date range has been adopted as the actual contents of the petitions are unclear.
