Note (Additional information about the record)
- The dating of 1343-1350 given on the guard has been adopted here. The petition is addressed to Henry, Earl of Lancaster, and whilst this could clearly refer to Henry of Lancaster (d. 1345) or to Henry of Grosmont his son and heir, the petition has to be after May 1343 when Edward of Woodstock was created Prince of Wales, and before March 1351 when Grosmont was created duke of Lancaster.
