[Petition in 2 parts, the first being badly damaged].1) [Grauntsete] requests the grant of the castle and manor of . . . for the term of his life rendering the extent at the Exchequer as he was granted . . . fishery . . . and they are totally destroyed by the coming of the Scots.2) [Grauntsete] requests a grant of the seneschalcy of the king's demesne in Newcastle Lyons and elsewhere taking the fee paid in times past having regard that they have been wasted by the coming of the Irish enemy.1)
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the justices and . . . that if it was wasted by the coming of the Scots as the petition alleges . . . the same lands . . . to the true value . . . and this value until he . . . and that he hold at the . . . of the king.2) Let it be ordered to the justice and the treasurer . . . cause . . . petition the keeping of the office at the will of the king for the ancient fee.
