[The petition is badly damaged, and is missing approximately half of the right-hand portion of the petition, and the full sense of the petition cannot be recovered].The people request that they will command to the constable of the castle of . . . that . . . as they have been residing their for 4 years at their own cost without taking anything from the king.

. . . that they are quit of paying for lodging and they should have a writ to the constable . . .
