SC 8/154/7651
Date
[c. 1422]
Description
Petitioners
Lost.
Addressees
Lords in the present parliament.
Nature of request
The petitioner requests sufficient letters warrant to the ministers of the goods of [Gilbert, lord Talbot] . . . as he was granted the marriage of Ankaret, daughter of lord Talbot for a certain sum . . . amount to much more than this sum by which he is excluded to his ruin.
Nature of endorsement
He should sue to the executors.
People mentioned
Ankaret [Talbot], daughter of Gilbert, lord Talbot
Gilbert, lord Talbot.
Note
The petition must date to c. 1422 as Ankaret Talbot died in February 1422, and it is unlikely that the petition, though too damaged to be certain of this, was making a complaint too long after her death (CIPM, vol. XXI, nos.779-87). The petition refers to Henry V being the late king, so the petition cannot be earlier than September 1422.
