Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated by Rees to 1328 on the basis of a related order to pay the petitioner the arrears for a bailiwick that the late king granted him for his service (Petitions Relating to Wales, pp.254-5; CCR 1327-30, p.281). However, the bailiwick does not seem to be the one mentioned in the petition, and the petition's phrasing does not suggest a petition of Edward III but of Edward II, there being no mention of service to the king's father. If so, this petition should perhaps more properly be dated? 1320-? 1327.
