[The lower section of the petition is badly damaged, and the full sense of the request is difficult to recover].The abbot requests that the sheriff make Lessels and other malefactors who broke his close called Hobriddyng in Deighton, driving out his livestock and pasturing the beast of Escrick appear before the chancellor to other for this and for the assault made against Cottingham and Straunton, and if they do not appear to make a commission of oyer and terminer.
